National Project Coordinator
Full-time (35 hours/week): August 1, 2020, through March 2023
Position Type: Full-Time (35 hours/week) until March 31st, 2023 (with possibility of extension)
Yearly Wage: $52,000
Location: Flexible within Canada, ideally at one of CBRC’s offices (Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Halifax)
Language: Primary working language is English, and ability to speak other languages an asset

For nearly two decades, Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC) has been advocating broad approaches to gay men’s health promotion that include action on social drivers like stigma and prejudice. Incorporated in 1999, CBRC is a charitable health promotion organization aiming to improve the lives of gay, bisexual, queer, and other men who have sex with men (cis and trans), and Two-Spirit people (GBT2Q) through research, learning and leadership development.
CBRC has partnered with Canada’s leading GBT2Q health organizations to form the Advance Alliance, a 5-year national initiative that aims to improve the availability and use of combination HIV/STBBI prevention services for GBT2Q people through strategic partnerships, knowledge mobilization, and community leadership. This collaborative project is supported by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
We’re looking for a full-time National Project Coordinator to work closely with the project team to support the implementation of our ambitious 5-year project. The position will assist in maintaining oversight of project implementation, supporting internal communications, resource development, and day to day operations with five partner organizations across Canada. This position will be filled by someone who is organized, tech-savvy, attentive to detail, and has the capacity to take initiative and work with autonomy. The position could be based in Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal (other cities may be possible).
Responsibilities
Provide operational and communications support to the national project team
Design tools and resources to help facilitate collaborative work within the Alliance
Interface with project contractors, including writers, graphic designers, and other consultants as required
Coordinate expense reporting and requests
Organization and scheduling of in-person and on-line meetings and events
Administrative responsibilities including taking notes during meetings, preparing correspondence
Compile reports and resources under supervision of national project team
Support reporting and evaluation activities across partner organizations
Oversee management & accessibility of core project documents and files
Support coordination of translation of documents between English and French
Reports directly to CBRC’s Director of Advancement and Evaluation
Other duties as required by national project team
Skills and Qualifications
Post-secondary education in administration, project management, health promotion, or related field of study, OR combination of relevant experience and/or education
Experience coordinating or supporting projects related to health promotion, research, or a similar discipline specifically in a partnership context is an asset
Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
Experience working with community or non-profit organizations, and/or public health agencies is an asset
Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment and multiple shifting demands
Familiarity with local and/or regional queer communities and resources
Knowledge of the social determinants of health, gay men’s health and wellness, and HIV/STBBI prevention is an asset
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), G Suite, online survey platforms, website maintenance, online communications platforms
